d00kiemastah: You learn something new from Family Guy esque hard core porn sex ed books every day.
So, yeah, the book:

Where Did I Come From?

It's some sort of sex ed for children's book made in the late seventies and purchased by my mother and given to me and probably definitely ruined my young mind with its hardcore erotic explanation of fucking. okay. okay.

Haha, that's great. Especially the "Making Love" part!

"All the rubbing up and down that's been going on ends in a tremendous big lovely shiver for both of them."

BWAHAHAHA! That's awesome.

And you turned out so well, too, despite being from Orangeburg. See, shock therapy pays off in the end.

Mind if I link this in my journal?

Yeah, I've been asked by several people including myself about how I escaped the wrath of Orangeburg.

Sure, go for it.

It's the half of my life that I didn't spend here that saved me, I believe.

I'm thinking it's the half of my life I spent on my computer that saved me, then?

A likely scenario. This county needs to take more steps to encourage internet addiction. :-)

I dunno, it's doing a pretty good job of that by having NOTHING TO DO here.

Hey, at least we have a Sam Goody (overpriced as it is,) and manga at the Waldenbooks now. This place was much more hellish 5 years ago. Even the restaurants have gotten better.

That, and going to Atlanta once a month, allows me to live here without sacrificing too much of my sanity.

(Not that any of that will stop me from leaving, mind you.)

Aw, my Sam Goody. I'm going crazy from boredom now and I miss working there. I bought the Sealab2021 DVD from 'em today five dollars cheaper than FYE WHY IS FYE SELLING USED DVDS FOR $17.99 THOSE DEMONS I WANT UTENA DVDS WHO IN ORANGEBURG BOUGHT UTENA and then sold it.

Waldenbooks is STUFFFFED with manga now. It's crazy. I also feel like Waldenbooks has doubled in size since I came back from Japan but they swear to me it hasn't.

I'm pretty sure the used discs get shuffled around through the various stores, so it probably wasn't a local buy. And damn was there a sweet deal at RightStuf on Utena DVDs a while back, but of course it's no longer on sale now that I know someone who wants it. I'd say try Amazon Marketplace, but I have run afoul of the Taiwanese video pirates several times, and that's one of their few remaining strongholds. Avoid anything with "import" in the description.

Manga seems to be flying off the shelves at WB according to their manager (well, he's at SG now,) and the NewType is always sold out, so there may yet be hope for this town.

I have all of Utena as VHS fansubs so it'd have to be really cheap for me to buy it on DVD.

They moved manga up right next to the register so I would now feel bad going in there and reading the manga quickly and not buying it. But people love stealing manga too, so I'm glad they moved it.

It is a little known fact that in the 70's you had to be fat and married to have sex and the only reason to have sex was to make babies.

I totally was raised on that book and it still didn't "hit home" (har har har) that for anything to happen there has to be "tickling" going on. I was clueless about that until like, middle school. Thanks a lot, Where Did I Come From, thanks a lot.

That's.. just not right.

Comparing sex to scratching an itch..? I'll never look at a mosquito bite the same way again. Come to think of it.. I'll never look at mom or dad sneezing the same way again..

*Vomits*

See the ninth picture mentioning the "lovely feeling"? Now.. you see those drops of something? I'm curious as to what those drops are...

Yeah I'd start to get paranoid about tickling people with feathers because it would mean I'd eventually have to fuck them. Or, uh. Something.
